Objective
Demonstrate Fugu’s ability to accurately simulate a 3D water pumping configuration involving air/water flow, capturing transient hydraulic behavior, phase interactions and flow regimes in a realistic piping system.
Simulation setup
The full fluid volume is resolved to capture phase distribution, transient regimes and interface dynamics.
- 3D domain with 2,097,152 cells
- Penalisation method to represent solid parts
- CPU count: 96
Results
The simulation captures the complex transient behavior of the pumping process, including phase distribution inside the pipe, air entrainment effects and unsteady flow regimes. The results highlight Fugu’s capability to handle complex multiphase flows in confined geometries while maintaining numerical robustness.
