Objective
Demonstrate that Fugu efficiently handles a complex industrial mixing case (water + non-Newtonian fluid) with minimal setup, robust physics, and strong HPC performance.
Simulation setup
The simulation covers an industrial skid with a tank and agitators on a 2,097,152-cell mesh. The "white" fluid follows a Carreau-Yasuda rheology. Agitators are represented via penalisation on a fixed mesh.
- 3D domain with 2,097,152 cells
- Non-Newtonian fluid modelling
- Penalisation method to represent solid parts
- CPU count: 96
Results & insights
The transient simulation tracks homogenisation between the two fluids, highlights high-shear zones, and analyses flow structures across the skid. The run completes in about 8 hours.
